New Additions

Gameplay

  • Added Ferocity and Regen Time to changeable stats! 
    • Ferocity increases your critical hit damage output 
    • Regen Time dictates the interval length of which you regenerate health
  • Added new debuffs!
    • Burned debuff deals damage overtime, but is non-lethal
    • Poisoned debuff deals damage overtime, is lethal, and also temporarily reduces your armor, making you more susceptible to damage
    • Frozen debuff slows your movement speed down as you collect more stacks
  • Enemy scaling! Harder leveled enemies will begin spawning more often the longer you survive in Purgatory!

Items

  • New Common Items!
    • Assassin's Blade: Increases ferocity by 0.1
    • Precision Lens: Increases crit chance by 10%
    • Explosives: Gain a 5% chance to throw an explosive when you attack
  • New Uncommon Items!
    • Healing Blossom: Increases your healing factor by 1 HP
    • Magnet: Attract dropped items and XP within a 1 metre radius (+0.25 metres per stack)
    • Regenerative Newt: Decreases regeneration time by 0.2 seconds
  • New Rare Items!
    • Eternal Hourglass: Gain a 5% chance to slow time on hit
    • Mitosis: Gain a 10% chance for any projectile to split in two when spawned

Audio

  • New Soundtrack!
    • "Blackened Fate" can now be heard within Purgatory as you fight enemies
  • Sounds, sounds and MORE SOUNDS! Sound effects have been added to various actions in the game, such as attacks, button presses, and certain item effects!
  • Sounds and music muffle when the game gets paused and becomes loud again when unpaused

Art

  • Animations! All players and enemies now have animations that can be seen throughout the game!

Changes

  • Character Select Menu now shows character idle animations in the preview
  • Map size has been downsized to 75 x 75
  • Decreased the radius of which enemies spawn in
  • Eternal Hourglass time slow effect has an additional particle effect which shows the hourglass shake back and forth
  • Camera now has motion smoothing, so instead of the camera following the player 1 to 1, it trails a bit behind. In short, it just looks better
  • Enemies now get damaged if they are in contact with the player
  • Renamed Sustainability to Healing Factor
  • The sprite for Rusty Helmet has been updated

Character Changes

Kurt

  • Regen time raised from 2 seconds to 2.5 seconds
  • Healing factor increased from 1 to 2
  • Crit chance increased from 12.5% to 15%
  • Ferocity lowered from 2 to 1.5

Dianthine

  • Regen time raised from 2 seconds to 2.25 seconds
  • Ferocity lowered from 2 to 1.25

Athene

  • Regen time lowered from 2 seconds to 1.75 seconds
  • Ferocity lowered from 2 to 1.5
  • Move speed raised from 3 to 4.5

Sven

  • Regen time raised from 2 seconds to 3.5 seconds
  • Ferocity lowered from 2 to 1

Vergo

  • Regen time raised from 2 seconds to 2.5 seconds
  • Ferocity lowered from 2 to 1.1

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the game bricked occasionally upon player death
  • Fixed a bug with inventory slots not being added/removed properly between game sessions
  • Fixed a bug where the player could be seen in the middle of the screen during character select
  • Fixed a bug where the camera would jitter when time slowed enough (Eternal Hourglass go brrr)
  • Fixed a bug where enemies had inconsistent speeds which led to some irritating losses. Mb!
  • Fixed a bug where the item infobox that appears on new item picked up remained on screen at times
  • Fixed a bug where crawlers' explosions didn't actually deal any damage
